For the summer, Wednesday has become the day when we weed and deadhead in seven or more gardens.
The Depot Restaurant
While we did deadhead at The Red Barn, next door to Diane and Larry’s, the temperature had shot up to 84 degrees and my brain was too baked by heat to remember to take photos.
The Planter Box had just of a few of the felicia daisy so I got them all. They have done wonderfully all summer. I want many many more next year.
I wanted still more bamboo poles for painting so we made a stop at The Planter Box.
Then, of course, I needed more spray paint for the poles.
We are still caring for Marilyn’s garden. The house will soon be put up for sale.
(Update: It has now been listed, and surely one of you gardeners would like to buy it.)
Klipsan Beach Cottages
I would love to pick Sara up and carry her around but she does get cranky.
The Anchorage Cottages
Jo’s gardenI have lost all love for shasta daisies now that they need so much deadheading. I had done the patches at Marilyn’s and KBC. Now it was Allan’s turn:
It is beyond me why no one is buying this awesome vintage house and garden and guest cottage. Someone must have the desire and the money! The price has dropped a bit.
Tomorrow’s work day will be impacted by a dentist appointment. We got a head start by grooming Veterans Field garden beds tonight.
Allan pulled some more of the crocosmia out of the Lewis and Clark Square garden bed. I started pulling, also, and then the sprinklers came on! The more we pulled, the wetter we got.
It actually felt great because the weather was still hot.
I planted the one lonely blue statice in the post office garden, where it made very little difference to the empty space. At home, I communed a bit with Skooter. Not much, because Wednesdays are long. Allan took this photo on our patio:
Tomorrow: We will have to cram watering LB and Ilwaco and a dentist appt (mine) into the day.

August 24: Bill Jr and 2 helpers came and repaired bathroom floor. While they were in the house I stayed in and went over my houseplants. I threw out a lot of empty pots—the leaves probably died because I didn’t water them. Poor Tabby; she hid behind the couch all day until the guys left. She is all mixed up because her potty is in the hall. The glue in the bathroom is awful.
