After work, we drove to Oysterville to see the late spring glory of THE Oysterville garden.

The south bed is burgeoning.

Because Melissa would be in Portland this weekend visiting her mother, we would not be having our weekly North Beach Garden Gang dinner, so we were pleased to find Mel and Dave (Sea Star Gardening) just finishing up a work session here.

We turn to the gardens surrounding the big north lawn.

Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’ or maybe the all gold one
I “helped” Melissa look for weeds. (We did help pull some!)

More Siberian iris admiration. Last year I got the silver subshrub identified as Gomphostigma virgatum, a South African plant which came through the winter here nicely.
a handsome pittosporum
That is one gorgeous garden.

Well holy cats! I have no idea how many times I said Wow while looks at the photos of this garden but it was at least as many as there were photos. Wow! So many beautiful combinations. And so many terrific photos. I loved the new and different photographic angles that really helped bring the structure of this garden into focus. I’m a big fan of plants jammed all in together and the front gate flanked with plants is so inviting. And that one toward the end that is “coming round to the front border” jammed with Jerusalem sage, ferns, sedum, etc., has so many wonderful textures. Love the walkway with blue star creeper. Adore the miniature meadow on the porch. Too many wonderful things to name in this post! Your friends are doing an excellent job maintaining that garden. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

Thanks for the detailed comment. The garden owner puts in a lot of work also. Thus perfection.

Wow, that’s some garden! I wish mine looked as nice. You don’t say how big this garden is, but it seems huge.

I’d say it is probably four city lots of 100 by 100 in size.
