At this entrance to the garden, Ketzel and Beth stopped and marveled at the silence of Oysterville.

We heard about some of Martie’s future plans for the garden and then departed to continue our tour.
September . . . and that is a fantastic garden (also love the pottery). The beautiful Northwest, where there is green all year round and you can grow almost anything that doesn’t require a tropical climate. I miss seeing flowers in person and am so happy you are sharing your photos here.

How nice to have a croquet lawn.

As you can see, it is exquisitely maintained. Croquet is something of an Oysterville tradition; they used to have tournaments there when the old timers were younger.

This garden does a nice job transitioning down to edges.

I’d like to say thank you after so many hours of transport and sadness and delight with Tangley Cottage. I’m a big fan of your lives, well-lived!
May I ask whether you know what the plant is that forms the hedge in Martie and Steve’s beautiful garden?
