I did not think I’d manage a post today because of feeling tired, but here it is. It becomes a habit.
I spent the first part of the day going to a doctor appointment which had encouraging news. To recover from that (the anticipation far worse than the event), I watched several episodes of Beechgrove Garden , a sometimes slow-paced, calming and entertaining Scottish gardening series. HDClump has over 100 episodes on offer. Today’s episodes made me laugh out loud a few times with its droll Scottish humor.
Because the day was ever so cold and windy, my only afternoon outing was to pick some salad greens from the greenhouse. While adding some chives and shotweed leaves from the garden, I admired my Corylopsis pauciflora, one of my favourite shrubs….
…and my crocuses, just standard ones, nothing collectible….
…along with my walking partner.
Of five window box shaped containers in the greenhouse, three were planted with old salad greens seed and two with 2020 seeds. Only the fresh seeds germinated. Next winter, if I use all fresh seeds (which I have acquired in recent mail orders) and can get five containers going, I will be able to get greenhouse salads more frequently than every other week!
I want to write about Loree Bohl’s book and a couple of gardening shows but am out of steam. Tomorrow, perhaps.
Glad your visit to the doctor had encouraging news. I really like the picture of Skooter on patrol.

Those are nice salads from your own greenhouse. Hope someday you can get these daily!

Always slow paced but none the worse for that in my opinion.

I agree. You are the one who told me about it and I am grateful. I have found a site that has all of seasons 2015 through 2020! Many episodes, as you know. It’s so soothing and also so droll.

You have inspired me to plant more crocuses. They are so pretty! Skooter is adorable. He seems to be cozying up to you more indoors.

Crocuses are cute and cheap from Van Engelen. I want to start collecting so,e rarer ones now.
