Today was to be a group trip up the Bone River and a chance for the first meeting of several online kayaking friends. The Bone River is forked two and a half miles up. I may have taken the path less traveled on my previous trip. Today we would see if that was true.
When we arrived the rising tide had only reached +2.5 feet. I gingerly walked onto the muddy bank and slid on the mud, resulting in our group making a new plan.
We would instead paddle the nearby Palix Rivers with its concrete launch. A cloud of mosquitoes were left behind that failed to materialize on the breezy Palix delta.
