At home
I had another planting day.

My helper…

I then had to water all the pots for the first time, after which I was exhausted but then suddenly got a second wind and weeded some grassy areas from seven to eight thirty. All that grass came out of two patches of irises. I swear that this year, as soon as it blooms if not before, that Lousina Iris ‘Black Gamecock’ will come out from under the contested filbert. It could be a much better garden bed. Perhaps I will limb up the contorted filbert like a photo in the wonderful book I recently read.

In the evening, we watched two episodes of Escape to the Country, a British home buying quest with a plot simple enough to enable me to write plant tags while watching. I had help indoors, too.

Things are on the floor because cats knock them off the tables.
Of course “things are on the floor because cats knock them off the tables.” That’s what cats do.
