Long Beach
We did a short day in Long Beach, first trying an experiment on the shady SW quadrant of Fifth Street Park of transplanting some epimediums that I think will outdo the aggressively seeding dwarf fireweed.

Allan weeded.

We tackled the maddening horsetail in the NW quadrant.

By the merchant center, formerly the police station, we sheared the rugosa roses to retrieve the sidewalk, which is a route to the Friday farmers’ market.

That was all we had in us after such a depressing and demoralizing morning.
“Horsetail and Roses” sounds as if it could be a country song!
Sorry that you’re feeling depressed and demoralized. Unappreciated too, I imagine. I hope you can find some time to recharge in your own garden. Sending good wishes.

Horsetail would wear anyone down.

Fortunately, kitties are good for depressing and demoralizing situations. Even I know that.
