At home
I now have a fleet of four rollators to help me at home and at work.

Shortie, from Mark McLaughry, is a sturdy big wheeler with a low seat which is especially good for hauling water jugs and buckets because I don’t have to lift them too high.
Steampunk, from Mary Storm, is a tough and cool customer that’s great in the garden because it rolls right over hoses and rough ground and holds a bucket plus a basket of weeds. It’s heavy to take to work where I often have to pick up rollator and bucket to get over a curb. I think its really big wheels might work on the beach.
Mom’s rollator is a new discovery. I didn’t even remember we had it, nor did Allan, who found it in his shop just in time because…
Red, from Purly Shell Fiber Arts, has a broken wheel because I’ve been using it so hard at work and garden touring. It’s waiting for a new wheel delivery so I’m taking Mom’s and Shortie to work, so I have a spare if I break another wheel.
We get most of our groceries by mail since the pandemic began. The cats appreciate the boxes and seem sad when the boxes get flattened after they’ve been enjoyed for a few days.

I spent the day putting final touches on the garden. Most of the weeding had been done.
Skooter also helped.

Allan mowed our lawn to a green carpet and also mowed Alicia’s and Norwoods, mostly dandelions; at Alicia’s he dug quite a few out first.

He watered at J Crew Cottage and found a weed I had missed.

He also went to the Ilwaco Community Building to water there.

Saturday will be our invitational garden open for some local gardeners, not too many because we are still a high risk county for Covid.
That is quite a fleet of rollators. My favorite is Steampunk.

I love that the boxes tell you to have fun with them. That’s a cute touch. —- I didn’t know about rollators at all; now I see there is quite a selection to choose from!

I am thinking about picking up one to use in my gardening efforts. I sometimes see them in my junking trips. It could be great to use it as you do–for hauling and sitting (from time to time). While I don’t ordinarily need one, it sure sounds like I could use one for gardening. I love your fleet of rollators, and so funny to name them.

Thanks, MaryBeth. It’s a very useful item to have in downtown LB. I would have started using one for work before vertigo had I know how useful it would be. Great for carrying weed bucket and hose, saves my back when hauling water buckets, makes it easier to maneuver my gardening gear among tourists, and gives me a tactful way to keep them slightly at bay when they ask me where to get ice cream or clam chowder. (Captain Bob’s Chowder is always my answer to the latter question.) One with a simple plastic seat like my mom’s is best for gardening. The plush seat on the red rollator has started to collapse from being damp with bucket water too often, must be something like particle board inside.

I love that you named your rollators. Your garden seems to be in it’s peak and not all dried out like we usually have in Kent this time of year. The coolness of the coast but protected from the wind is my dream location.

Love your rollator fleet! Your cats are lucky to have a supply of boxes and catmint. I agree with Dawn–the coolness of the coast would be so appreciated this time of year.
