at home
We directed people toward Alicia’s driveway and garage sale. The evening before, she had had an emergency request to drive a friend to Portland and then come back home, arriving at midnight, and so had missed a whole evening of sorting and preparation.
We let our open garden guests and garden-friendly garage sale patrons enter through our west side gates.
Our friend Marlene from down by Ilwaco Park found a new sit spot at the end of Willows Loop West.
Lots of old timers enjoyed talking about old times with Alicia, whose family goes back at least four generations here.
The owners of V’s Coastal Deli came to visit and their son found tadpoles in the ponds. They might make a pond at home and collect some tadpoles for it.
I was pretty tired by day three so I spend some time in Alicia’s patio.

Tony’s photos of our garden
The following open garden photos are by our good friend Tony Hofer who visited with his husband, Scott.

But the video that Tony made captures the garden better than any video I’ve ever made of it. It is set to public view on Facebook, here. It truly tells the story of walking around this garden.
More of day four in tomorrow’s post.
Tony’s video is a lovely homage to your garden!

Your garden always inspires me! I need to get the rest of my garden ornaments out.

The garden is so very different at this time of year, and it is also very different in video rather than in still pictures. I do like it in winter though. That is how I remember it.

Wonderful video. Every glimpse of the garden is another beautiful picture. Thanks to Tony for his narrative, also!
