Long Beach
After a rainy Sunday (during which I caught up on some blogging about the Minack Chronicles), and a rainy and windy Monday morning, we had a perfectly timed break in the winter to meet with Brian and Whitney of the Long Beach city crew to talk about some work that they are going to do to help out in the gardens…
We talked about some changes to the beach approach garden beds…

..and some ideas I had for Fifth Street Park…

…and Allan and I tidied up the gunnera there, pulling off the old protective leaves (I hope not too soon).

The dry weather held through the afternoon so that I was able to finish planting my new plants. There were areas where I couldn’t plant without high rain boots on (which I do not have since my feet got bigger).

So far, I have had no luck with last year’s new and rather expensive hepaticas blooming. I live in hope and added a new one.

That is all the plant orders in the ground except for a very few that are semi-tenderly waiting in the greenhouses.
I need to plan a spring visit to see your work in its glory

New plans should add interest to your public work.
